So I was at the hospital with Abi the other day and they were about to take x.rays of her arm. As is standard precaution they asked me if there was any way I could be pregnant (I have been asked this question a few different times during this deployment, all by x.ray techies). When I was asked before I laughed at them. They didn't think it was a funny question. This time I just really wanted to yell at them. Instead I laughed and firmly said, "NO." The x.ray technician team handed me the HUGE apron as one woman said, "Just in case" with a big grin. I wanted to scream, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT MY LIFE IS LIKE?"
Let me explain. . .
First of all, IF Ben were here I would NOT be pregnant because I have three crazy kids under the age of 3 who take every last second of my time and attention. I would be crazy to even THINK about having another baby right now.
Secondly, my husband has been GONE for seven months. He left 6 days after Payson was born. It is very difficult to get pregnant without a husband.
So x.ray-technician-ladies next time DON'T EVEN ASK! It's not funny.
And her name......

I don't get why they are SOOO cautious about that. I had a CT scan while pregnant, which is like a thousand x-rays, and my baby was fine! So add that to your list of reasons why they should just leave you alone!
You are a trooper jewels. And such a great mom to those kids. What a great day it will be to have your husband home all cozied on the couch with you. I'm so sorry we never got together while I was there. Take care adn keep your head up.
ugh! if people really knew what was going on in our lives before they opened their fat mouths. i know all you are doing and you are doing it great... your efforts are doing MUCH good dear! (HUGS)
Bless your heart, Jewels. You are so strong.
I hate that question! I went in once to have an xray of my foot and they asked me that and I just about said "ARE YOU BLIND!!" I was 7 months pregnant. I think they ask just to annoy people. Way to keep your cool!
Silly, silly people.
I'm guessing that they have to ask because not everyone is moral and monogamous in their relationships...
They asked me too when we had Eliza's arm x-rayed in September.
(Her elbow was dislocated) I just smiled and said "Nope." The tech was young and naive :) I didn't even bother going there with her...
Sorry for yet another insensitive reminder that your husband is not home :(
